Job summary

The Ness Center in Louisiana is seeking a dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to support our inpatient behavioral health hospital on the night shift. This role performs routine and preventive maintenance to ensure a safe, clean, and fully operational environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

You will handle electrical, plumbing, HVAC support, painting, and general upkeep, assist with room setups and furniture moves, and participate in safety and infection control procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, or HVAC, is preferred.
• Strong safety and infection control awareness in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs including plumbing, electrical, lighting, ceilings, and basic carpentry
• Assist with HVAC maintenance and routine system upkeep
• Conduct inspections of fire safety equipment and support drills/tests
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and documentation
• Assist with room setups, furniture moves, and grounds upkeep
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely, professional manner
