Job summary

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH is hiring an Environmental Services Floor Technician for the third shift (Tue-Sat 10:30pm–7am). You will maintain floors, assist infection prevention, and support hospital operations with independent and team-based work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• 2-3 years of experience with cleaning equipment and chemicals used in hospitals or healthcare settings.
• Previous floor care or environmental services experience preferred.
• Ability to operate floor care equipment or willingness to learn.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and comprehension skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Able to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies as needed.
• Stand and walk for extended periods during shift.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wax, strip, and polish floors throughout the hospital.
• Operate high- and low-speed stripping and buffing machines.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets in assigned areas.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, equipment, and woodwork.
• Clean walls, ceilings, windows, blinds, and related surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and replenish supplies.
• Empty, clean, and sanitize waste receptacles.
• Set up tables, chairs, and equipment for hospital events and daily operations.
• Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain hospital cleanliness, infection prevention, and safety standards.
• Provide professional and courteous customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
