The role requires 2–4 years as a Medical/Histotechnologist, a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field, and ASCP/NCLS certification preferred. On-site position with emphasis on quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Histotechnology or related science required.
• MT/HT certification ASCP or NCLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and review the work of laboratory personnel to ensure tests are performed correctly and results are accurate.
• Oversee inventory to maintain supplies for the group.
• Provide guidance to subordinates on technical problems and act as liaison for investigations.
• Orient, train, and evaluate personnel to ensure proper performance and adherence to policies.
• Maintain quality control and preventive maintenance programs; troubleshoot equipment.
• Assist in preparation of quality control and procedure manuals; participate in staff evaluations.
• Support department in selection, transfer, promotion, and discharge decisions.
• Contribute to laboratory marketing efforts and development of test methods.
• Evaluate new laboratory techniques and maintain proper records.
• Recommend changes to improve group functioning and monitor test utilization.
• Assist in variance reports and workload data; monitor safety programs.
• Participate in educational activities and remain current in responsibilities.
• Manage work assignments and payroll verification; perform technologist duties as needed.
