Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a heavy equipment operator for our Durham mine, working the night shift from 8 PM to 6 AM. The role involves operating mobile heavy equipment such as haul trucks, motor graders, and water trucks to move raw materials from pit to plant.

Essential duties include learning to operate other equipment, assisting in plant repairs, and performing pre-shift inspections and preventative maintenance. Strong safety adherence and teamwork are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile heavy equipment to move raw materials safely to the plant.
• Assist night shift maintenance crew with repairs and cleanup.
• Perform pre-shift safety inspections on equipment and report needed repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on mobile equipment.
• Maintain good housekeeping of equipment and work area.
• Adhere to MSHA and plant safety rules and regulations.
• Operate with minimum supervision.
