Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator for our underground limestone mine in Fort Calhoun. You will operate scalers, haul trucks, loaders and water trucks to move raw materials from train to stockpile and load finished products.

Shift is Monday–Friday, 6pm to 6am, with occasional weekends. Responsibilities include vehicle inspections, following signals, preventive maintenance, plant maintenance support, and other mining duties as required.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• Bi-lingual is a plus.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of off-road haul trucks and other equipment used in mining (scalers, loaders, skid loaders, etc.).
• Perform daily inspections of vehicle and work area.
• Observe signals during vehicle operation.
• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance; clean equipment.
• Assist on plant maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Other mining related duties as required.

Under the immediate direction of the Lead person or Supervisor, the Equipment Operator is responsible for operating mobile equipment while moving raw materials from train to stockpile and loading finished products. Additional responsibilities include maintaining roadways and loading areas for designated business unit. Shift: Monday - Friday 6pm to 6am, Occasional Weekends.

Martin Marietta is currently looking for energized Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at an underground limestone mine at our Fort. Calhoun Mine Location. This position would be responsible for operating a variety of mining equipment, including scalers, haul trucks, loaders and water trucks.

Essential Responsibilities

• Responsible for operating a variety of off-road haul trucks and other equipment utilized in mining which could include scalers, loaders, skid loaders, etc.
• Perform daily inspection of vehicle and work area assigned
• Observe visual and auditory signals during vehicle operation
• Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment; clean equipment
• Assist on plant maintenance and repairs as needed
• Other mining related duties as required

Minimum Education and Experience

High school Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required. Minimum 1-year previous experience in a role with similar responsibilities Bi-Lingual is a plus Must have a valid driver's license
