Job summary

Allied Universal in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Part Time Emergency Support Security Officer to safeguard patients, visitors and staff in a healthcare setting. You will perform routine patrols, monitor access points, and respond to incidents with professionalism.

The position offers flexible night shifts, a supportive team, and opportunities to advance through our shift-claiming platform. Ideal candidates have security experience and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including medical emergencies, disturbances, and access-related concerns.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entrances, parking areas, and the facility perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management, badge verification, and direction of patients and visitors to appropriate areas.
• Document incidents, observations, and security-related activities in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal reporting requirements.
