Job summary

Kroger Family of Companies in West Virginia is seeking team members to create outstanding customer experiences and maintain a safe, clean environment. You will assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals while upholding quality standards and the Customer 1st strategy.

Responsibilities include answering questions, stocking, suggesting products, verifying freshness, and reporting discrepancies. Prior retail experience is a plus and a second language is desirable.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated by answering questions about products.
• Gain knowledge of department products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Recommend grocery items and inform customers of specials.
• Check product quality and freshness; review sell-by dates and take action.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise; provide fresh products customer ordered.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers; keep logs.
• Reinforce safety programs and report unsafe conditions to management.
• Inspect equipment and report items in need of repair to the manager.
• Notify management of accidents, safety risks, or illegal activity.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
