Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for a government facility in Austin, TX. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, manage access control, and provide courteous customer service to visitors and staff while documenting observations with computer or tablet tools.

The position requires security experience, flexibility with a night schedule, and successful background and drug-screen checks.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public at government facilities by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, public concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, documenting unusual incidents, hazards, and policy violations in accordance with site requirements.
• Assist with maintaining an orderly environment by providing directions, supporting access-control procedures, and communicating respectfully with facility personnel and the public.
