Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a General Maintenance Mechanic for the 3rd shift to maintain building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety facilities. The role supports a large tertiary care campus with focus on reliability and safety.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma and at least 1 year of maintenance experience; a VA/NC driver’s license is required. Refrigerant recovery certification is preferred and signing bonuses may be available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License (VA or NC).
• At least 1 year of general maintenance experience.
• Refrigerant Recovery certification Type I/II or Universal preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance on building systems including floors, walls, ceilings, lighting, HVAC, electrical, plumbing and related components.
• Responds to elevator, tube station, and fire alarm trouble calls as part of routine maintenance.
