Qualifications

• BS degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or Meat Science or equivalent experience.
• QA experience in pet food or human food manufacturing preferred.
• Strong written & verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented with ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Provide routine verification of in-process testing (NIR moisture, fat, protein; Aw, density, dimensions).
• Coordinate with Processing Technicians and Shift Managers when product is out of spec, documenting impacted product.
• Perform routine in-process verification of preventive controls to ensure food safety compliance.
• Conduct routine in-process checks to meet safety and quality requirements.
• Carry out environmental swabbing and pre-operational inspections per EMP.
• Perform GMP inspections.
• Run laboratory tests for raw materials and finished products as per documented programs.
• Analyze data and report to management.
• Maintain sample library and store samples per procedures.
• Submit samples to third party labs for testing or confirmation.
• Review analytical/pre-shipment docs and release finished product as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
