Job summary

The Suddath Companies is seeking a forklift operator to safely move, stack and pick merchandise within our warehouse. You will operate material handling equipment (MHE) in a safe, efficient manner, following OSHA standards and maintenance routines.

The night shift runs Monday through Friday from 5:00pm to 1:30am. We offer a competitive wage package, PTO, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, and career growth in a stable, 100+ year old logistics company.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months verifiable work experience operating material handling equipment in the last 36 months.
• Experience with sit-down/stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, or order pickers.
• Ability to work night shift and in a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards including daily inspection and maintenance.
• Load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials using a gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric powered MHE equipped with lifting devices (to include; forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch or motorized pallet rider).
• Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
• Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.
• Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring accuracy for loading and shipments.
• Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers or containers.
• Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
• Perform pick and pack, light assembly, labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed.
• Keep appropriate records and reports to ensure proper inventory control and security measures are followed and maintained.
• May assist in physical inventories.
