Shift Hours

Day Shift — Monday to Friday, 5:30am to 2:00pm.

Summary

This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift or other powered material handling equipment (MHE) to move, stack, or pick/pull merchandise. The scope of this position includes all phases of warehousing depending on needs, including shipping, receiving, inventorying, product repackaging, palletizing and forklift operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards, including daily inspection and maintenance.
  • Load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials using a gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric powered MHE equipped with lifting devices (e.g., forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch or motorized pallet rider).
  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
  • Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.
  • Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring accuracy for loading and shipments.
  • Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers or containers.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
  • Perform pick and pack, light assembly, labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed.
  • Keep appropriate records and reports to ensure proper inventory control and security measures are followed and maintained.
  • May assist in physical inventories.
Qualifications

Minimum 6months verifiable work experience in the prior 36months operating material handling equipment (sit‑down/stand‑up forklift, reach truck, cherry/order picker, etc.). Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Physical/Environmental Demands

The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Physical activity includes standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel; reaching with hands and arms; climbing or balancing; stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, and talking or hearing. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50pounds unassisted and be able to carry and climb a ladder. The employee must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods (at least 2hours straight, four times in an 8‑hour day) and must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch frequently. The employee must use hands and feet simultaneously for repetitive movements. Working conditions include exposure to warehouse conditions, vibration, poorly illuminated or awkward spaces, varying seasonal temperatures and outside weather, and working above ground level where falling is possible. Loud noises typical of the environment may be present.
