Job summary

XPO Logistics Freight Inc. is seeking a Forklift Operator at our Des Plaines, IL dock for night shifts. You will efficiently sort, load, and unload freight using forklift and pallet jacks, while adhering to safety policies and using handheld devices to track shipments.

Preferred candidates have dock/warehouse experience in transportation and forklift experience in freight/LTL, with strong attention to detail. This is a full-time role with benefits for those working 30+ hours per week.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to do basic math calculations, with and without a calculator.
• Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Preferred: dock or warehouse experience in transportation; forklift experience; loading/unloading trailers.
• Strong attention to detail and motivation to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight.
• Use appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including pallet jack and forklift.
• Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies.
• Work in a safe, efficient manner, adhering to company safety policies.
• Use mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments.
• Work on a dock that is not climate-controlled for extended periods.
