Job Description

We are seeking a Night Shift Data Center Facility Manager to serve as a leader and technical expert across a cluster of our northern VA Amazon data centers. The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in electrical and mechanical systems.

The Data Center Facility Manager is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the data center, as well as the maintenance of the campus grounds. They manage Engineering Operations Technicians who maintain, operate, and troubleshoot mission-critical facility equipment including electrical support systems such as standby diesel generators, switchgear, UPS units, PDUs, batteries, and related systems. Mechanical equipment includes CRAC units, air handlers, pumps, and motors. The scope also includes fire suppression, building automation, and general facilities equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute the InfraOps vision and goals
• Lead improvement projects from conception to completion, coordinating with support teams
• Manage third-party vendors to ensure SLA adherence
• Oversee operations budget and expenditures
• Develop and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry standards and SLAs
• Coordinate change management processes
• Provide weekly reports to the Cluster Manager
• Conduct performance reviews and manage staff schedules
• Recruit and train technicians to maintain staffing levels

Physical Requirements

• Walk on uneven terrain and work at heights
• Respond to emergency calls outside of normal hours
• Work in noisy environments and at depths under raised floors

This position requires the candidate to be a US Citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
