Job summary

CareWell Health in East Orange, NJ is seeking a part-time Environmental Services Manager to oversee EVS, linen and transport operations during night shifts, ensuring high sanitation standards and efficient department performance. The role focuses on staff supervision, regulatory compliance, scheduling, and cross-department collaboration to support hospital operations.

The position requires a minimum of four years' healthcare EVS management experience and a valid NJ driver’s license;

Qualifications

• Current NJ driver's license required.
• A minimum of four years of experience as an environmental services manager at a healthcare facility.

Responsibilities

• Supervises resources for Environmental Services, Linen and Transport and oversees hiring, promotions and staff reviews.
• Manages a waste program and ensures disposal according to regulations.
• Leads quality improvement initiatives and documents results for management reports.
• Oversees bed tracking and EVS response times, coordinating with EVS Director on improvements.
• Onboards new Environmental Services staff and enforces cleaning/disinfection standards and chemical usage.
• Maintains inventories and ordering of supplies and equipment repairs.
• Prepares master work and time schedules; coordinates vacations and holiday time.
• Coordinates with other departments to support institutional needs and fosters a hands-on team environment.
• Participates in hospital meetings and committees as appropriate.
• Maintains awareness of community resources and regulatory standards (JCAHO & DOH).
