Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring experienced Veterinary Technicians for our busy Emergency and Critical Care department. The pay band starts at $20–$40 per hour, depending on experience and progression through our competency leveling system.

This role offers mentorship, growth opportunities, and a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates. As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will induce, monitor and recover anesthesia, triage cases, and perform digital radiography, phlebotomy, IV catheter

Qualifications

• Experienced veterinary technicians in emergency/critical care.
• Sign-on bonus available for qualified CVT/LVT/RVT/LVMT/VTS and experienced un-credentialed.
• Night shift hours: 7:30 pm – 8:00 am.
• Ability to induce, monitor, recover anesthesia; triage emergency cases.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia and use anesthesia equipment.
• Triage emergency cases and monitor vitals (temp, heart rate, resp rate, BP).
• Perform digital radiography with proper patient positioning.
• Maintain knowledge of normal vital sign ranges and interpret changes.
• Monitor blood pressure and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Identify at-risk patients and initiate CPR.
• Calculate medical dosages and administer medications.
• Phlebotomy and peripheral IV catheter placement.
• Place feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train co-workers.
• Provide patient- and client-centered care with empathy.
