Job summary

Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia's Emergency Department is seeking a Registered Nurse for part-time night shifts. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, with responsibility for delegating to the healthcare team as appropriate.

Responsibilities include applying nursing process, communicating changes in patient condition, documenting assessments and outcomes, participating in discharge planning, and ensuring safe, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing is required.
• Current RN Pennsylvania license is required.
• BLS certification required or obtained on orientation.
• ACLS required or obtained on orientation if applicable to area of practice.
• Previous acute care and/or ER experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides total, comprehensive care to patients by applying the nursing process in an organized and systematic manner according to hospital policy.
• Communicates proactively to the health care team, plan of care, changes in patient condition, patient progress, discharge plan and other relevant information.
• Documents assessment/reassessment, plan, interventions and outcomes according to policy and interprets and utilizes clinical data in the plan of care.
• Documents pain assessment and plan of care.
• Documents fall risk and plan of care.
• Documents wound risk and plan of care.
• Interprets & utilizes clinical data in the plan of care.
• Assesses patient for potential risk factors.
• Performs accurate and thorough nursing physical assessment.
• Participates in discharge planning, using a multi-disciplinary approach.

Skills

Bachelor's degree in nursing

Current RN Pennsylvania license

BLS certification

ACLS certification

ER experience preferred
