U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking an Environmental Services Technician (EVS) – Housekeeping Aid for a Wednesday-Sunday third shift at a VA Medical Center.

You will perform cleaning, sanitizing, and laundry-related tasks across patient and non-patient areas, using various cleaning equipment and chemicals while maintaining safety and quality standards. The role requires the ability to work independently or with a team, and willingness to handle hazardous materials and heavy equipment

Responsibilities

• The Housekeeping Aid executes a full range of housekeeping activities in patient and non-patient care areas.
• Position may be assigned to any tour and may work in various designated areas during any tour.
• Works independently with supervision or with a team to perform cleaning duties in an assigned area.
• Uses cleaning solutions to remove stains from floors, walls, ceilings, and other surfaces.
• Cleans and sanitizes restrooms and patient rooms with appropriate chemicals.
• Removes soiled linen and maintains supplies for cleaning tasks.
• Operates powered equipment such as scrubbing machines, buffers, and vacuums.
• Performs routine maintenance on cleaning equipment and performs sweeping/mopping in high-traffic areas.
• Identifies health and safety hazards and follows posted instructions.
• Work Schedule: Wednesday - Sunday, Third shift, 11:00 pm to 7:30 am.
