Job summary
Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, VA, seeks an Environmental Services Technician I for the 3rd shift (night) with rotating weekends. This full-time role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across patient rooms, hallways, and common areas.
You will follow safety and regulatory standards, handle cleaning chemicals, and work with the team to deliver a high-quality patient experience.
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of housekeeping/Environmental Services experience, hospital setting preferred.
- Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and chemical usage.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform damp dusting, mopping, scouring, and other cleaning tasks.
- Clean patient rooms, hallways, and common areas.
- Respond to spills and ensure proper waste disposal.
- Use cleaning chemicals safely and operate equipment.
- Ensure regulatory compliance for waste handling and transport.
- Collaborate with team to enhance patient experience.
- Cross-train in other areas and pursue development paths.
