Job summary

Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, VA, seeks an Environmental Services Technician I for the 3rd shift (night) with rotating weekends. This full-time role focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across patient rooms, hallways, and common areas.

You will follow safety and regulatory standards, handle cleaning chemicals, and work with the team to deliver a high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of housekeeping/Environmental Services experience, hospital setting preferred.
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and chemical usage.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform damp dusting, mopping, scouring, and other cleaning tasks.
• Clean patient rooms, hallways, and common areas.
• Respond to spills and ensure proper waste disposal.
• Use cleaning chemicals safely and operate equipment.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for waste handling and transport.
• Collaborate with team to enhance patient experience.
• Cross-train in other areas and pursue development paths.
