Job summary

Yanfeng Global Automotive Interiors in Fountain Inn, SC seeks a Plant Technical Manager for the B shift to drive new programs, plant projects, and cost-reduction initiatives. Develops assembly, process, fixturing and equipment to ensure high quality and cost-effective production.

Assure design changes are implemented in a timely, cost-effective manner. The role requires leadership across all departments, plant safety program involvement, and hands-on experience with Vac form, Lamination, IR

Qualifications

  • 5-9 years of automotive industry experience.
  • Willing to travel and work at customer sites including manufacturing plants.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Responsibilities

  • Support plant safety programs with engineering involvement in manufacturing processes.
  • Provide leadership across all departments to support the manufacturing process.
  • Oversee assembly experience in Vac form, Lamination, and IR welding.
  • Handle injection molding experience requirements.
  • Mentor technical staff including Controls, Process Techs, and Engineering.
  • Manage and implement product/process design changes.
  • Support VA/VE activities with Manufacturing Engineering representation at trials, approvals, and dates.
  • Develop make vs. buy plans and present proposals.
  • Develop annual budgets and schedules for purchase burden, labor, and equipment.
  • Supervise maintenance managers and manufacturing engineers.
  • Oversee facilities activities at the site.
  • Review subordinates’ performance for training and development per policy.
  • Ensure conformance to IOS and TS requirements for the position.
  • Promote a safe work environment and prevent injuries through 5S, job rotation, ergonomic practices; participate in audits and 8D actions.

Job Summary:

The Plant Technical Manager B shift is responsible for supporting the plant and customer through effective management of new programs, plant projects and implementation of improvement and cost reduction suggestions. Develops assembly, process, fixturing and equipment to ensure high quality and cost-effective production. Assure design changes are implemented in a timely, cost-effective manner.


Essential functions of the job:

  • Support plant safety programs by ensuring engineering support is involved with the implementation into the manufacturing process.
  • Leadership across all departments able to pull the team together to support the manufacturing process.
  • Assembly experience in Vac form, Lamination, and IR welding.
  • Injection molding experience
  • Manage and mentor technical staff including Controls, Process Techs, and Engineering.
  • Manages the quoting and implementation of product/process design changes.
  • Support VA/VE activities by ensuring the Manufacturing Engineering is represented at all trials, approvals, and implementation dates are achieved.
  • Establish and evaluate internal integration plans by completing make vs. buy plans and present proposals.
  • Develops annual budgets and schedule for purchase burden, labor, and equipment.
  • Supervise maintenance managers and manufacturing engineers.
  • Manage all facilities activities at the site.
  • Reviews the job performance of each subordinate so that employee training and development may be utilized per Company policy.
  • Conformance to all IOS and TS requirements applicable to position
  • Responsible for promoting a safe work environment and preventing injuries through the use of, but not limited to, 5S, job rotation, and ergonomic work practices. Safety auditing, tracking or audit closure, participating in incident reviews along with writing or assisting in the 8D process and aiding in corrective action closure. Communication of safety information as necessary and participation in safety meetings and activities is also required.

Required Education:

Engineering Degreeor similar.


Required qualifications:

  • 5-9 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.
  • Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
  • Must be organized and able to communicate well with others.
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty, satisfactorily.
