Job summary

Maine Veterinary Medical Center in Scarborough, ME is hiring an Overnight Emergency Technician Assistant to join our 24/7 Rarebreed team. You will support emergency care, radiology, in-house labs, and daily hospital operations while providing compassionate care to pets and families.

Requirements include a high school diploma and at least 6 months of veterinary/animal handling experience. We offer benefits and opportunities for growth in a team-first environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in veterinary or animal handling role.
• Ability to multi-task in a busy hospital environment.

Responsibilities

• Restrain animals using appropriate methods.
• Assist with daily hospital tasks: laundry, stocking, cleaning, walking patients, litter box duties, daily treatments.
• Support exams, in-house lab work, radiology and other tasks.
• Maintain clean cages and runs to hospital standards.
• Provide compassionate care to clients and patients.
• Fill medications for outpatients and inpatients as instructed.
• Collaborate with team members and accept feedback.
• Follow veterinarian or technician directions.
