Job summary

Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to assist in patient care and ED operations under the direction of the RN and physicians. You will help maintain supplies and equipment and support timely patient flow through the ED/UCC.

The role requires a high school diploma, six months ER/UCC tech experience or EMT, and certifications in Basic Life Support. This on-site position offers night shifts and a commitment to C-I-CARE standards and exceptional patient

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months ER/UCC tech experience or EMT (EMT-B/I/P) required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Attention to detail and strong customer service.
• Strong interpersonal skills and adherence to codes of ethics in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining department supplies and equipment; support direct patient care as directed.
• Check and document vital signs (temperature, BP, pulse, respiration, SpO2, weight) as directed by RN/physician.
• Perform simple dressing applications and maintain clean technique.
• Obtain, label and transport specimens (blood, urine, feces, sputum) as assigned.
• Answer patient call lights promptly and report needs to the appropriate staff.
• Assist RN in identifying reportable cases and escalate as needed.
• Support discharge instructions under physician/RN guidance, in line with patient development level.
• Adhere to C-I-CARE standards in all patient interactions.
