Job summary

Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, AZ is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department, night shift, a Level III Trauma Center. This full-time role focuses on patient-centered care, collaboration with physicians and staff, and adherence to clinical protocols to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN license required in Arizona or compact state
• 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience in acute care
• 1+ years of ED RN experience preferred
• BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications desired
• Strong assessment and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with policies and the nursing process.
• Document assessments and care plans promptly in the medical record.
• Administer medications, monitor for side effects, and report changes to the care team.
• Assist physicians during procedures within competency and scope.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in CPR and code team activities.
• Educate patients and families on conditions and post-discharge care.
• Ensure infection control and safety standards are followed.
• Maintain equipment and participate in audits and compliance activities.
• Demonstrate professional development and participate in performance improvement initiatives.
• Maintain regular attendance and comply with all policies.
