Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an inpatient Staff Nurse to provide skilled nursing care for acutely ill patients. The role supports professional standards and adheres to ethical and compliance guidelines.

The position requires a BSN and an active Illinois RN license, BLS, and strong collaboration and analytical abilities. Shifts are from 7 PM to 7 AM with an every-third-weekend rotation, and benefits are included as part of our competitive package.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others
Strong analytic abilities

Responsibilities

Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, develops and implements an individualized plan, coordinates care and evaluates progress toward outcomes.
Directs care and utilizes any needed assistants in direct patient care.
Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff; documents plan focused on outcomes and communications.
Participates in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
Evaluates patient responses to interventions and updates the care plan accordingly.
Uses evidence-based practice to guide care decisions.
