Genesis HealthCare System in Ohio is seeking an Emergency Department Nurse Supervisor (EDNS) to lead the ED team during night shifts, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality care. You will work under the Nurse Manager, supervise nursing staff on assigned shifts, manage patient flow, and coordinate with ancillary departments to maintain 24/7 operations.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree and Ohio RN licensure, BSN, 3 years of clinical ED experience, current CPR, and certifications

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing program and Ohio RN Licensure.
• BSN or equivalent experience required.
• Three years clinical experience in ED or related field.
• Current CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
• Has or obtains PALS, TNCC, ACLS, BCRA, and ENPC certification within 12 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate nursing activities during assigned shifts and acts as a liaison for all staff and providers.
• Manage staffing assignments, breaks, and coverage based on patient acuity and volume.
• Monitor ED throughput metrics and initiate surge protocols as needed.
• Forecast bed needs and coordinate with inpatient units to expedite admissions.
• Provide direct patient care during high‑acuity or surge situations.
• Coach and mentor nursing staff in collaboration with ED educator and manager.
• Assist with onboarding, orientation, and competency validation.
• Monitor compliance with ACHC, CMS, ODH, EMTALA and hospital policies.
