Job summary

Bayhealth Medical Center in Delaware seeks an Emergency Department Nocturnist to provide acute emergency care for all ages. The role emphasizes resuscitation, stabilization, and coordination with multiple departments to deliver timely, high-quality care.

Qualifications

• MD degree with EM residency completion per HTML
• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine; DEA registration and license
• Previous freestanding ED experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Carry out immediate evaluation and management of emergency patients
• Evaluate patient condition to maintain department flow
• Request appropriate medical tests and follow treatment plans
• Develop effective patient care plans
• Refer patients to appropriate specialists
• Ensure patients are stable before transfer
• Provide discharge instructions and prescriptions
• Maintain patient records
• Coordinate with departments to ensure timely treatment
• Complete EPIC charts within 72 hours
• Review and co-sign charts within 72 hours
• Provide monthly schedule availability as required
• Maintain licenses and annual education
• Review medical reports (labs and radiology)
• Attend staff/committee meetings unless off-duty
• Perform other duties within scope as assigned
