Job summary

Bayhealth Medical Center in Smyrna, Delaware seeks an Emergency Department Nocturnist to join our 24/7 ED team. This full-time position requires MD/DO with EM residency and board certification, DE licensure, and readiness to manage critical patients, coordinate care, and supervise staff during night shifts.

The ideal candidate will contribute to patient care, charting in EPIC, attend staff meetings, and participate in quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine.
• DE A Diversion Control Division; DEA registration.
• DE medical licensure or DO licensure.

Responsibilities

• Carry out immediate evaluation and management of emergency patients.
• Evaluate patients to maintain department flow and coordinate tests.
• Develop patient care plans and refer to specialists as needed.
• Ensure patients are stable before transfer and provide discharge instructions.
• Maintain medical records and complete EPIC documentation within 72 hours.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in department activities.
