Job summary

BD is seeking an Electromechanical Technician for the night shift in the USA Northeast/Columbus area to maintain and optimize production equipment. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and continuous improvement across mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.

The candidate will troubleshoot PLCs, robotics, and machine vision while collaborating with controls engineers and process engineers. A strong background in electromechanical systems and manufacturing is required.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electromechanical Technology or related field required.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining automated production equipment is highly desirable.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming, controls systems, and industrial automation.
  • Experience with robotics and machine vision systems.
  • Understanding of industrial networks and communication protocols.
  • Proficiency with fabrication techniques and equipment.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and technical documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement principles.

Responsibilities

  • Support Controls Coordinators and Process Engineers with process improvements involving mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment including pneumatics and servo systems.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair PLCs.
  • Maintain and repair robotic systems and automated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain industrial networks.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, calibration, and validation per standards.
  • Manage and maintain spare parts inventory.
  • Train operators on proper operation and safety.
  • Provide leadership and technical support to associates.
  • Respond to equipment issues outside of normal hours as needed.
  • Update and maintain Quality System documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment to optimize performance.
  • Support additional business needs and special projects.
