Job summary

Oldcastle APG, a CRH Company, seeks an Electromechanical Technician for the night shift at Northfield, IL. The role centers on preventative maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery, with a schedule from 7:30pm to 6am and overtime flexibility.

You will install, test and repair production equipment, troubleshoot malfunctions, and perform welding and light machining as required. A comprehensive benefits package supports long-term growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in maintenance/repair.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals and instructions.
• Mechanical aptitude and tool skills.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, belting, electricity and carpentry.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems.
• Team player or able to work independently.
• Understanding of preventative and predictive maintenance.
• Lock out/ tag out procedures awareness.
• Able to lift up to 80 lbs and handle heavy equipment.
• Comfort with manufacturing conditions (noise, dust, temperature).

Responsibilities

• Perform general repairs and preventive maintenance to plant structures.
• Install, adjust, and repair production equipment and machines.
• Test and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery and ensure safe operation.
• Install electrical components and test for proper function.
• Dismantle equipment to access defective parts using tools.
• MIG/Stick welding, torch cutting, light machining as required.
• Operate hand and power tools to repair and maintain equipment.
• Keep work area clean and orderly; assist mobile mechanic as needed.
• Assist with other duties as needed.
