Job summary

Shearer’s Foods, Inc. is hiring an Electrician for night shifts in a food manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include adhering to GMPs and food safety standards, analyzing circuits and wiring diagrams for installation, repair, calibration, and service of electrical devices and systems. The role requires knowledge of electrical theory, circuit analysis, and safety compliance, with experience in Allen-Bradley PLCs and frequency drives preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Vocational/technical electronics training preferred.
• Stable work history and good attendance expected.
• Ability to use hand tools and trade type tools.
• High mental and visual effort required.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts.
• Allan-Bradley PLC and frequency drive experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to GMPs, Food Safety requirements and company policies.
• Analyzes circuits, wiring diagrams and drawings to install, repair, calibrate, service or replace devices and systems.
• Applies thorough knowledge of electrical theory and statutory codes to equipment.
• Starts up and shuts down equipment per safety procedures and OSHA requirements.
• Tests and services electronic equipment; replaces faulty components and boards.
• Installs, repairs and maintains communication and power cables and splicing materials.
• Determines need for running adjustments, repairs and overhauls.
• Notifies supervisor of potentially dangerous equipment and corrective actions.
