Job summary

CalPortland is seeking an Electrical Instrument Technician to maintain, construct, and repair electrical distribution, lighting, computer, and PLC systems within the plant. This graveyard electrician role runs Wednesday through Saturday, 4 pm to 4 am, offering a hands-on mechanical and electrical challenge in a cement plant setting.

The compensation ranges from $40.14 to $41.09 per hour, with generous 401(k) contributions, paid vacation and holidays, and comprehensive health, dental and vision

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to work rotating/flexible hours and in harsh environments.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Calibrates, designs, reconfigures, assembles, installs, inspects and maintains electrical systems and equipment; reads blueprints and verifies operation.
• Uses voltmeters, ammeters, VTVMs, bridges and industrial electrical/electronic analyzing tools as needed.
• Sets up rigging, climbs poles or uses mobile equipment to work on power lines and equipment.
• Prepares and maintains logs, reports, charts and schematics related to duties.
• Maintains equipment, work areas and measuring tools.
• Performs minor mechanical work such as cutting, welding and painting panels and controls.
