Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Lead ESH Representative for the night shift at our New Albany, Ohio project site. You will lead the Environmental, Safety, and Health program during non-day hours, applying Bechtel requirements and industry practices to manage risk and protect workers.

The role demands field inspections, ability to work on construction sites, and wearing PPE. You will report to the ESH Operations Manager and coordinate with the Night Shift Construction Manager to ensure safe operations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree (or equivalent) in occupational safety, health, or a related discipline with 5+ years of experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 7+ years experience.
• Associate's degree with 10+ years.
• 14+ years in safety/health experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead night-shift safety and health activities, applying professional judgment and risk-control strategies.
• Supervise ESH personnel and develop them through coaching and mentoring.
• Interpret requirements; provide technical guidance on hazard identification and ESH program execution.
• Research ESH issues and conduct safety studies and risk assessments.
• Implement Safety and Health Management Plan and oversee night operations.
• Support emergency preparedness and incident investigations.
• Coordinate with project groups to integrate ESH requirements into planning and construction.
• Participate in meetings with customers, project teams, contractors to discuss ESH requirements.
• Conduct inspections, identify corrective actions, and prepare reports.
• Develop ESH communications and support teams across disciplines.
