Job summary

Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville, NC is seeking a clinical pharmacist to provide expert medication assessment, dosing recommendations, and to implement clinical rounding services as part of the patient care team.

The role includes precepting residents and PharmD students, leading pharmacotherapy initiatives, and collaborating with physicians and nurses to improve safety, outcomes and cost effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist with Doctor of Pharmacy degree and NC licensure.
• Board certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year post-graduate clinical training or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive medication order evaluation for dosages, interactions and incompatibilities.
• Prepare and dispense orders per physician requests per policies and procedures.
• Review culture and susceptibility data for antibiotic appropriateness and recommend changes.
• Assist with pharmacokinetics consults and drug dosing per protocols.
• Document clinical activities and interventions accurately and completely.
• Precept and mentor pharmacy residents and PharmD students; supervise learners.
