POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Night Shift Equipment Operator, specializing in Dredger, will operate multiple pieces of equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining a safety-first attitude. This position requires management resources to adhere to all company standards, policies, and procedures and comply with all federal and state regulations, including MSHA, OSHA, TCEQ, etc.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow safety rules, regulations, and procedures based on MSHA/OSHA and Alleyton policies.
• Safely perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections, complete daily equipment reports, and report unsafe equipment to supervisor or foreman.
• Demonstrate the ability to safely and productively operate equipment at all times.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices on equipment.
• Assist maintenance personnel with plant repairs when needed. Perform preventative maintenance.
• Cross-train on other positions in the plant to serve as a relief to other operators.
• Demonstrate a positive, upbeat attitude and energy level and work as a team player.
• Ability to work in a confined area with other heavy equipment and ground personnel while maintaining awareness of surrounding hazards of operation.
• Must be able to work on pipelines in cold and heat climates.
• Dredge Operator requires many tasks, greasing, maintaining good housekeeping, performing pump jobs.
• Must be able to troubleshoot problems.
• Performs other related duties as may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Prior experience safely operating heavy mobile equipment or in the aggregates industry is preferred. General maintenance abilities are required. Proficient knowledge of MSHA/OSHA safety requirements.

Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office products and some ability to adapt to other computer software.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to perform work around water when required.
• Must wear a life jacket when required.
• This position will be considered for night shift roles if they become available. Evenings and night shifts may be expected.
• Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as necessary.
