Job summary

YAI is seeking compassionate Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals in maximizing strengths, interests, and abilities. You will support people to meet personal goals, use person-first language, encourage socializing, and provide emotional support while building positive relationships.

This role requires supervising and protecting individuals, following behavioral support plans, maintaining safety, documenting services, and collaborating with the team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to meet essential physical demands including lifting, standing, bending and reaching.
• Excellent written and oral communication for accurate documentation and billing.
• Demonstrated empathy and patience when supporting people with I/DD.
• Proficiency with basic computer tasks and Workday usage.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in maximizing their strengths, interests and abilities while maintaining their personal rights.
• Support individuals to meet personal goals and facilitate social connections.
• Provide supervision and ensure safety, following program guidelines and HIPAA requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized therapeutic environment and document services.
• Collaborate with the team and participate in trainings and meetings.
