Job summary

Qualifications

• Custodial experience or ability to be trained as evaluated by facilities managers.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and students.
• Knowledge of operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of housekeeping practices and materials.
• Knowledge of minor equipment repairs and routine maintenance.
• Physical ability to bend, lift up to 70 lbs, and perform outdoor work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, secure, and clean environment in the assigned workplace.
• Perform daily custodial duties and adapt to district needs.
• Order and maintain supplies; ensure cleanliness meets district standards.
• Ensure proper heating/ventilation and report major problems.
• Help prevent loss of school property and assist in safeguarding assets.
• Assist in training new employees and cover for Head Custodian as needed.
• Coordinate snow removal and exterior maintenance; support evening activities.
• Use email/data entry in the work order system and operate cleaning tools.
