Job summary

Wichita Public Schools is seeking a Night Relief Custodian 2 to support custodial staff in maintaining a clean, safe environment for students and staff. Duties include daily cleaning, restrooms, floors, and classroom areas, with occasional responsibilities for supervising part-time staff and special projects.

The position requires attention to energy management, proper safety practices, and reporting maintenance needs to the Building Custodial Supervisor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of Master’s certificate preferred.
• Minimum 1 year custodial experience required.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Must Pass Physical Capacity Profile Test.
• Must Pass Prove It Testing for reading and arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Dusting all flat surfaces, emptying wastebaskets and pencil sharpeners.
• Sweep floors, mop and spot mop; clean restrooms and assigned areas.
• Sweep hallways, stairs and landings; clean gym, locker room and auditorium; assist lunch room cleanup.
• Perform weekly duties: buffing, high dusting, carpet spotting, lighting replacement, floor stripping/sealing/waxing.
