Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a Building Services Worker to clean and service public, academic and administrative areas, ensuring a safe, attractive environment with minimal disruption to daily campus life.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma and at least two years of custodial experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate equipment like floor scrubbers while following safety procedures. Weekend/holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• 2 years custodial experience.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with manager, co-workers and patrons.
• Ability to operate hand radio for communication.
• Ability to successfully handle and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to operate a variety of equipment and small hand tools, including a floor scrubber/rider.
• Ability to read detailed room diagrams.
• Ability to follow written instructions.
• Ability to follow safety procedures for install/take down/storage of all equipment used for events.
• Provide operational support as needed.
• Ability to work outside the normal shift, as needed.
• Must have the ability to, as well as meet, the requirements to complete and maintain mandatory training.
