Job summary

The University of North Texas - Denton is seeking a Part-time Custodian for the night shift to support Facilities operations across campus. You will perform cleaning and sanitation tasks, maintain cleanliness of floors, restrooms, offices, and public areas, and help uphold UNT's standards.

This 20-hour per week position runs Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 PM to 2:30 AM, with TRS eligible retirement and benefits.

Qualifications

• There are no minimum education or experience requirements.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Read labels on chemicals.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and proper use of cleaning equipment.
• Ability to operate vacuum cleaner, floor waxer, floor buffer and other cleaning equipment.
• Physical ability to stand, stoop, lift up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to recognize and report maintenance needs.
• Knowledge of safety and security precautions.

Responsibilities

• Maintains custodial closet and cart in neat and clean manner.
• Trash is removed daily, disposed of in the proper locations for removal and disposal.
• Communicate with custodial supervisors daily.
• Report inappropriate actions, injuries, safety issues, and work repairs.
• Consistently completes expected duties in a timely manner without constant supervision.
• Promotes Facilities core values of Service, Integrity, and Excellence by conducting oneself in a manner that is respectful, honest, ethical, and customer focused.
• Follow all departmental cleaning standards provided by supervisory leadership.
• Committed to maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
