Job summary

UPMC Bedford is seeking a full-time CT Technologist to work the night shift (Sunday-Thursday). The role involves performing CT procedures with contrast, documenting data, and ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Responsibilities include coordinating with RIS/ISITE, maintaining proper protocols, and collaborating with the care team to deliver quality imaging and patient care. Sign-on bonus of $20,000 with a two-year commitment.

Qualifications

• Performs CT procedures using established protocols with contrast administration under supervision.
• Interacts with RIS and ISITE for exam coding, archiving, and interpretation.
• Administers contrast media and assesses patient risk prior to imaging.
• Communicates procedures clearly to help patients feel at ease.
• Uses independent judgement to adjust CT protocols for diagnostic quality.
• Works with patients and staff with care, respect and teamwork.
• Verifies patient identity using two identifiers and follows universal protocol.
• Documents patient history in the electronic record.
• Demonstrates venipuncture and power injector technique.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT procedures using established scan protocols with contrast administration under minimal supervision.
• Uses imaging equipment to acquire, analyze, reconstruct, and document data per protocol.
• Ensures exams are coded, tracked in RIS, and archived via ISITE.
• Administers contrast media according to orders and assesses patient risk.
• Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and gain cooperation.
• Applies independent judgement to adjust protocols for diagnostic quality.
• Collaborates with team to expedite patient care.
• Verifies patient identity using two identifiers and follows universal protocols.
• Documents patient history in electronic health records.
• Demonstrates venipuncture technique and proper power injector use.
