Job summary

CoreSite is seeking a Critical Operations Engineer II in Reston, VA to operate, monitor, and maintain mission-critical electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems ensuring uptime. You'll document conditions, analyze performance, and drive operational excellence with CMMS and cross-functional teams.

The role includes night shift Tue-Sat 10PM-6AM, mentoring teammates, and contributing to process improvements while upholding safety and reliability standards across customer infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of data center electrical and mechanical experience.
• Strong troubleshooting with safety-minded approach.
• Ability to collaborate across operations, engineering and customers.
• Knowledge of NEC/NFPA and fire life safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot critical electrical, mechanical, and life safety systems.
• Document inspections, respond to abnormal conditions, and track performance in CMMS.
• Provide advanced remote hands, coordinate with technicians, vendors and customers.
• Lead documentation, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
