Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Successful completion of Patient Care Technician training and have an active Patient Care Technician Certification required.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification required.
• Successful completion of CPCT-A certification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living and patient care under RN direction.
• Perform phlebotomy, vital signs, point-of-care testing, EKGs and Foley catheter care.
• Identify and communicate changes in patient status to the RN and ensure safe patient practices.
• Reinforce education for patients and families regarding care needs and safety.
• Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives and orientation of new hires.
• Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by required due date.
• Maintain safety protocols and high-quality patient care; communicate with patients and coworkers.
