Job summary

Firelands Health in Sandusky, OH, is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for Critical Care (7p-7a). You will provide comprehensive nursing care, administer medications, and coordinate with physicians to ensure patient safety and timely discharge.

Required is a current Ohio RN license and CPR; ACLS, Basic EKG, and ECCO are needed or must be obtained within 6 months. CCRN/TNCC are preferred within 2 years; strong organization and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a current Ohio RN license and CPR prior to patient care experience.
• Prefer at least 1 year of experience.
• Current ACLS, Basic EKG, and ECCO required or obtained within 6 months of hire and remain current.
• CCRN and TNCC certification is preferred within 2 years in area of expertise.
• Excellent organizational, customer service skills, and computer proficiency are a must.

Responsibilities

• Implements the nursing process with patients including carrying out physicians orders regarding diet, medication and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
• Performs assessments; monitors and ensures quality care through observation and evaluation; documents nursing interventions on care plans, medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed.
• Instructs patients, staff, and family members regarding treatments, nursing plans and related patient care directed towards a safe discharge.
• Responds to emergencies; maintains availability of medications and supplies; ensures cleanliness of equipment and environment.
• Demonstrate service excellence and acts as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
