The Respiratory Therapist II at Wellstar Health System provides advanced respiratory care in critical care settings, including ventilator management and protocol-driven therapies. You will deliver patient care with independent decision-making and educate patients and families.

You will collaborate with physicians and the health care team, perform patient assessments, administer therapies, and participate in staff development and precepting.

Formación

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Respiratory Therapy (preferred).
• All certifications are required upon hire unless stated otherwise.
• 0-2 years clinical experience with at least 6 months in critical care.
• Strong communication, assessment and computer skills.

Responsabilidades

• Completion of patient care, documentation and education.
• Team approach to service and supportive environment for students and staff.
• Assesses patients and plans therapy with the health care team.
• Verifies orders and administers aerosolized meds, oxygen and gas therapies.
• Ventilator management, weaning, airway management and ABG analysis.
• Educates patients and mentors new employees and students.
• Assists in invasive/non-invasive procedures and pulmonary testing as needed.
