Job summary

Baptist Health Downtown is seeking a dedicated Critical Care Pharmacist to join the overnight team in the ICU/ED. You will verify orders, optimize pharmacotherapy, and support emergency responses in a high-acuity inpatient setting, collaborating with physicians, nurses, and the care team.

Requirements include Florida Pharmacist licensure, active BLS/ACLS, and PGY1 residency; ICU/ED experience highly preferred. This is a full-time, night-shift role with 7-on/7-off scheduling.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist licensed in Florida.
• Active BLS/ACLS required or capable of obtaining.
• Experience in inpatient clinical pharmacy is required.
• PGY1 residency and ED/ICU experience are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services for critically ill and emergency department patients during overnight hours.
• Review, verify, and optimize medication orders to ensure safe, effective pharmacotherapy.
• Participate in emergency response situations (code blue, rapid response, trauma, stroke, sepsis activations).
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team to develop patient-specific treatment plans.
• Monitor patient responses to therapy and adjust medications based on status and labs.
• Provide pharmacokinetic monitoring and dosing recommendations for critical care medications.
• Educate pharmacy staff, nursing personnel, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain controlled substance management and inventory during overnight operations.
• Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, and antimicrobial stewardship initiatives.
