Job summary

Claiborne Medical Center, part of Covenant Health, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Critical Care Unit on the night shift. This full-time role involves direct patient care, assisting RNs, and supporting ADLs for assigned patients with a focus on safety and quality care.

The position requires TN CNA licensure on hire and CPR certification; hospital experience is preferred. New hires may be in a sitter capacity as needed and must adhere to infection control and safety policies.

Qualifications

• CNA license in Tennessee required on hire; out-of-state hires must have license in process as reflected on state site.
• Hospital experience preferred; medical terminology knowledge a plus.
• Ability to read, write, perform basic arithmetic, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs (temp, pulse, respiration, BP, weight).
• Assist with ADLs and patient mobility under RN supervision.
• Support nutritional needs and meal/tray distribution.
• Provide morning/evening care including hygiene and dressing.
• Maintain a safe, clean patient environment and report equipment issues.
• Assist with introduction of infection control practices and proper body mechanics.
• Gather equipment and assist with oxygen, suction, and bedside procedures as needed.
• Respond promptly to patient call lights and requests.
