Key duties include operating hydraulic or cable cranes safely, inspecting equipment, and coordinating with team members to ensure efficient material movement while maintaining strict safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of crane operator experience in an industrial setting (steel mill preferred).
• Valid crane operator certification (e.g., NCCCO or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Operate hydraulic or cable cranes with magnet attachments to move and sort scrap metal and other materials.
• Ensure safe and efficient movement of materials within the mill.
• Maintain equipment and conduct routine inspections for safe operation.
• Follow safety protocols and work with a team to ensure compliance with all safety standards.
• Assist in material loading/unloading processes as needed.
• Document crane operations and report any malfunctioning equipment to maintenance personnel.
