Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent computer skills and ability to learn specialized security systems.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain alert and composed while monitoring multiple systems.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate with staff, visitors, supervisors and agencies.
• Ability to work as essential personnel, including shifts to support continuous operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor facility camera systems, touchscreen computers, radio systems, intercoms, and AV tech.
• Identify and report safety hazards, security threats, disturbances, alarms, and irregularities to supervisors.
• Operate doors and gates and verify staff IDs.
• Activate security personnel to areas needing assistance.
• Maintain backup panel control for all housing areas.
• Maintain electronic daily logs and documentation.
• Direct visitors and provide information about inmates/policies.
• Notify outside agencies during emergencies and special situations.
• Provide briefings to oncoming/off-going staff for continuity.
• Perform other duties to support safety and security.
