Job summary

WorkSource Heart of Georgia seeks a supervisory custodian with security responsibilities to oversee night shift operations at a medium security facility in Georgia. The role requires prior custodial supervision within a criminal justice or correctional setting and P.O.S.T.

certification. Qualified candidates may have experience directing through subordinate managers and security staff, or an undergraduate degree in criminal justice or related fields.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED and Georgia P.O.S.T. certification.
• Two years of supervisory custodial experience in a criminal justice or correctional system.
• One year at the lower level Correctional Lieutenant (PSP065) or equivalent; or one year at the lower level Correctional Captain (PSM060) or equivalent.
• Preferred: experience directing through subordinate managers and security staff at a state correctional facility, or two years outside the Georgia Department of Corrections; or an undergraduate degree in criminal justice or related field.

Preferred

Qualification:

One year of full-time experience in directing through subordinate managers, security activities and staff at a state correctional facility operated by the Georgia Department of Corrections. Or two years of full-time experience in directing through subordinate managers, security activities and staff in a correctional setting outside the Georgia Department of Corrections. Or completion of an undergraduate degree in criminal justice, one of the behavioral sciences (e.g. Counseling, psychology, sociology, etc.) or a related field at a four year college or university.
