Job summary

Amsted Automotive Group's TransForm Automotive division in Shelby Township, MI is seeking a Midnight Shift (11pm - 7am) Controls Engineer to support our Shelby Twp facility. The role focuses on developing and supporting equipment availability and performance across facilities, with continuous improvement to increase machine uptime and efficiency.

Key responsibilities include leading MES/CMMS interfacing, troubleshooting, safety system verification, and implementing control solutions for assembly

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics/prints and how these systems interact within an assembly process.
• Ability to adapt and learn new controls technology and software.
• Ability to work effectively with light supervision and communicate technical details.
• Experience with multi-axis servo and robotic systems.
• Familiarity with Cognex/Keyence vision systems and basic networking.
• Exposure to Fieldbus technologies (Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT, IO-Link, Modbus).

Responsibilities

• Lead in MES/CMMS interfacing and integration with assembly processes.
• Troubleshoot machine failures through maintenance escalation and documentation.
• Assist in safety circuit functionality and verification (light curtains, mats).
• Develop user interfaces for operators and integrate into MES/CMMS.
• Define wiring and data gathering connections for equipment.
• Configure equipment and program integration into MES systems.
• Support controls projects across Amsted Automotive Group as required.
